Your Own Estimate
Over the first few days, you have seen the style
of doing order-of-magnitude estimates in order to better understand
biological phenomena. During the course, you will
develop your own such estimate.
Abstract | Write a one-paragraph abstract of the estimate you will perform. Include what your estimate will be and what your approach will be. Submit your abstract as a PDF only by email to Rob, Nathan, and Griffin on Thursday, Jan. 13 by the beginning of class.
Write Up | Write a one-page summary of your estimate including relevant background, how you performed the estimate, and what your conclusions are. Submit as a PDF only by email to Rob, Nathan, and Griffin by the beginning of class on Monday, Jan. 18 .
Lightning Talk | Make a two-minute PowerPoint presentation about your estimate. This should be a brief summary of what your estimate was, how you performed it, and what your conclusions were. Submit by PDF only to Nathan, Griffin, and Rob by Tuesday, Jan. 19. These presentations will be given to the class on Wednesday, Jan. 20 and Thursday, Jan. 21.
